About Me
I am the proud mother of two wonderful children and wife to a loving husband. I have lived in Haverhill for 25 years and have had the good fortune of meeting many wonderful people. My good fortune has continued in my career as I continually meet amazing students, parents and teachers in the Wakefield community.
Teaching is a career change for me. I made this change some years ago but am still very excited about it. I bring that excitement and enthusiasm into my classroom daily. Before making this career change, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and worked in the IT field until the birth of my first son. At that time I became an at-home mom and worked occasionally on a contract basis in the computer field. I also dabbled in some direct sales; including educational books.
I was involved in the Haverhill Public School System for eight years as a parent volunteer and started working in the schools in 2003. After substitute teaching at the middle school level, I made the decision to become a middle school math teacher. It was through my substitute teaching that I realized how much I enjoyed being with children of middle school age. I taught in the Haverhill Public Schools for several years before moving my career to the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield. The 2014-2015 school year is my third year of teaching in Wakefield and my first year in a brand new school! Staff, students and the community are very excited about the prospects a new building and new technology will bring to student learning.
